After a traumatic incident during his residency, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) is transferred to a rural hospital to start over. Dr. Harrison (seasoned stage and screen actor Michael Potts) notices that James is struggling and having trouble building relationships with his patients. He suggests that James take a course on manners and how to connect more deeply with patients. The demons of James’ past catch up with him as he takes on the case of a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER, RARELY, SOMETIMES, ALWAYS) who presents with mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to slip when his disturbing nightmares, fear-driven speculations and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. In his humanistic and unconventional take on the genre, director Alex Thompson assembles a strong ensemble of seasoned character actors in his sequel to SAINT FRANCES and predecessor to GHOSTLIGHT.
